Toyota Motor North America, Inc. issued a recall February 9th on 2010 models of the popular Toyota Camry due to defective design that could affect the braking system. The power steering hose is too short, allowing it to rub on the brake tube — potentially perforating the brake tube. If the brake tube is perforated, it will allow brake fluid to leak and impact braking performance increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will notify owners and dealers will replace or adjust the brake tube at no charge, if it is necessary. The recall should begin during March 2010. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331. BMW of North America, LLC issued a recall January 22nd on 2010 models of BMW X5 and X6 for poorly bonded windshields. In the upper right area of the windshield, bonding may be insufficient for approximately 50 cm. In the event of a rollover, the stability of the roof may be compromised, allowing the roof to cave and increasing risk of injuries. 
Honda Motor Company has issued a recall on 438,000 cars worldwide due to faulty airbags. The recall comes less than two weeks after another Honda recall for 646,000 due to a faulty window switch. And in November 2008 and June 2009 Honda recalled 510,000 vehicles for airbag problems.
There is a third major Toyota recall. Toyota Motor Corporation is recalling 437,000 of its flagship Prius and other hybrid cars for braking problems. The recall is on all 2010 Prius hybrids (133,000) and Lexus HS 250h (14,500) vehicles.

Chrysler Group LLC issued a recall January 7, 2010 on 2009-2010 models of Dodge Ram, 2010 model of Chrysler Sebring, and then numerous Dodge and Jeep 2010 models for hydraulic brake problems. These vehicles may have been built with a defective brake booster input rod retaining clip. Some vehicles may be completely missing the retaining clip. This could result in brake failure — WITHOUT WARNING — which could lead to a crash. This recall involves more than 24,000 vehicles.
General Motors issued at recall December 18, 2009 on certain models of Corvettes equipped with a removable roof due to adhesive failure between roof panel and the frame. If the roof flies off while being driven down the road, it could strike a vehicle following and cause personal injury or property damage. This recall may involve more than 22,000 vehicles.
General Motors issued a recall December 18, 2009 on 2010 models of Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles for failing to comply with the federal safety requirements that deal with the windshield defrosting and defogging systems and the controls and displays systems. The software is defective and may lead to the heating, A/C, defrost, radio controls, and panel illumination to become inoperative. Driving without a functioning defrost system can reduce visibility and lead to a car accident. This recall involves more than 59,000 vehicles.
Volkswagen issued a recall December 14, 2009 on the 2009 Audi Q5 manufactured between November 25, 2008 and June 4, 2009. A piece of pillar trim may not have been manufactured correctly, allowing the trim to become loose when the sideguard head protection airbags deploy in a crash. If the trim dislodges when the airbag deploys, it could injure the front seat occupants. This recall involves more than 6,000 vehicles.
Volvo issued a recall December 17, 2009 on certain models of Volvos equipped with a defective fuel pump flange. If the flange cracks, it could lead to a fuel leak and be a fire hazard. The recall is for vehicles sold or registered in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and the United States Territories. The hot climate and temperature cycling over time, have resulted in cracked flanges. This recall involves more than 130,000 vehicles.
